Utilizzando il provider Jet per l’accesso a database Microsoft Access con OLEDB, su una macchina con sistema operativo a 64bit riceverete un messaggio di errore, ‘The ‘Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0′ provider is not registered on the local machine’.
Microsoft non sviluppa più provider OLEDB quindi non è disponibile una versione a 64bit.

Nell’installazione di Microsoft Office 97 Professional su Windows 7 (build 7057) a 64bit si presenta lo stesso problema trattato nell’articoli su Vista 64bit
The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you’re running. Check your computer’s system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.

Nel tentativo di installare Microsoft Office 97 Professional su Windows Vista a 64bit all’avvio del SETUP si presenta questo brutto errore:
La versione del file non è compatibile con la versione di Windows in esecuzione. Controllare le informazioni di sistema del computer e verificare se è necessaria la versione x86 (32bit) o x64 (64bit) del programma, quindi contattare il distributore del software.
