Open mailto links in Firefox with Google Apps

If you use Google Apps, and especially e-mail from a web of changes to make to make more immediate use is to be able to create a new email by clicking on the email link in the web pages we visit.

Firefox already has support for GMail settings, we see how to add one for Google Apps :

  • Open Firefox
  • Write in the address bar about: config
  • Click on "I'll be careful, I promise"
  • Type gecko.handler in the filter field and press enter
  • Double-click on the item gecko.handlerService.allowRegisterFromDifferentHost so that the value is set to True
  • Copy the following into the address bar text that will be replaced with the domain example.com Apps') and press enter
  • Click on the Add Application button just above the filter
  • From the Tools menu> Options> Applications, mailto refine by
  • Be able to leave "Ask every time" to decide from time to time the client to use or select Google Apps for use as the default
