All of a sudden your burner has disappeared from My Computer?
In device manager I found a nice yellow exclamation mark on the device?

The problem probably lies in the register of Windows XP, then proceed as follows:
- Make a new restore point system (not required but recommended)
- Download the file cdgone.zip , extract it and double click on the file cdgone.reg
- Reboot the PC
In detail, the log file contains this:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Class \ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}]
"UpperFilters" = -
"LowerFilters" = -
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ Cdr4_2K]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ Cdralw2k]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ Cdudf]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ UdfReadr]

Thanks so much,
utmost respect for "those" like you who wake up at 3 am ... (I hope you like the Premier League) ...
Who provide their expertise to the community of dummies (including myself), though young, but prevented or almost ...
ALSO WORKS WITH VISTA (I did back up I wanted to trust and have been repaid)

Hello Maurizio, I write to you again some time ago I saw that you were a great help. I want to format my laptop (it was made of all), but I have the recovery disk how do I do? It 's an Acer 5630

If the PC has a recovery partition you should get a Windows CD (Home or Pro, depending on your license) and provide for the installations.
Then download the drivers from Acer website.
