Volume Serial Number

For each format the partition is assigned a serial number (not to be confused with the serial disk hardware, assigned by the manufacturer), the serial of the disk, or more properly the partition can be changed in various ways, are the most practical means of special programs ...

The two favorites are VolumeID to use command line, and Volume Serial Number Changer that has a graphical user interface (GUI), written in C + +, complete with source and binary (executable).

Volume Serial Number Changer

If you use Windows Vista as the operating system, Windows 7 or Server 2008, you must run the program with administrator rights.
